What is WWE NXT Takeover? And why does it exist? NXT Takeover is another special battle produced by WWE. It is a periodic event which has captivated audiences from across the globe.
Being held several times a year, people still go Gaga for these fights. There is something really special about NXT Takeover. The first NXT event in February 2014 was actually named as NXT ARRIVAL as it signalled the arrival of something big and grand-NXT Takeover series justified it completely.
Did you know that Take over battles take place a night before the “BIG FOUR”. Big four refers to WWE pay-per-view events which include the WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Summer Slam and Survivor Series.
The NXT Takeover series started out in February and was followed by a series of battles which have stunned the public including me!! After February, NXT Takeover slayed it in the same year in May and then in November and all over again in December. Usually, NXT Takeover happens every quarter but in 2015, it happened five times a year.
In 2017, NXT Takeover was scheduled to happen five times, out of which two are down already. The timely breakup of 2017 NXT Takeover schedule is as follows:
January 28 – San Antonio
April 1 – Orlando
May 20 – Chicago
August 19 – Barclays Center
November 18 – Toyota Center
As of now, WWE has revealed two dates from the 2018 schedule. Take a sneak peek into what 2018 holds for NXT Takeover:
It will start to run from January 27 at the Wells Fargo Center, which will be followed by another NXT Takeover event on April 7, 2018 at the Smoothie King Center.
