AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura WWE Championship Match WrestleMania 34

The match-up the crowd has been waiting for, an instant classic, a people’s main event; call it whatever you want, AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura is going to be an exploding WrestleMania main event, and you can’t teach that!

Unlike its Raw counterpart, Smackdown’s main event for WrestleMania is being welcomed by fans and critics alike. And why should it not be? When two of the best in-ring performers in the history of professional wrestling collide with each other for the most prestigious title on the brand, it sure is going to make heads turn.

Styles and Nakamura; this isn’t the first time they come face to face in a squared circle. They have fought each other for the IWGP Intercontinental title, at NJPW’s WrestleKingdom, in what could only be described as a five star instant classic. However, it is for the first time in WWE universe that these two giants are on a collision course.

Shortly after their previous encounter, both Styles and Nakamura headed towards WWE, where both took the WWE universe by storm. Nakamura as an NXT champion and Styles on the main roster, made plenty of name for themselves, and after they both were drafted to the blue brand, is when speculations started for a match between these two fan favourites.

The king of Strong Style paved his way to the WrestleMania back in January when he defeated 29 other superstars in a Royal Rumble match to secure the spot of no.1 contender to the WWE Championship, a title then held by AJ Styles.

AJ Styles’ WrestleMania moment, his third in a row, was however, not clear until the recently concluded PPV Fastlane, where he overcame extraordinary odds by defeating Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena. There were speculations that WWE wanted to go ahead with their plans of Cena vs Nakamura, but seeing the overwhelming opposition of Reigns vs Lesnar and a drop in ticket sales, they decided to give the fans what they wanted, Styles vs Nakamura, which I must agree, is and will be one of the best decisions in the recent times.

AJ Styles won his Championship back at WWE’s tour to Europe, against Jinder Mahal, where he also became the first ever person to win a title outside of the American continent. He then onwards has been defending the title against the likes of Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin and John Cena in a series of matches stipulated mostly as multi-men fights and handicap matches. Despite all the odds, he has survived with the championship so far, giving just a hint as to how much he is over with the WWE universe.

King of Strong Style vs The Phenomenal One, this match is what everybody is expecting and promises to be more. With their exceptional techniques, and fast paced actions, this match has the potential to be their greatest ever. Just hoping this doesn’t go down as Lesnar vs Goldberg at WrestleMania 33, which it won’t (I am very positive about it but you never know what WWE writers have in mind). The crowd is going to go wild when that bell rings for the start.

Who will win the bout of the age? Well, nobody can say what will transpire given the tremendous talent these superstars possess, but given the current scenario, I want AJ Styles to retain. This is not going to happen either, as they have not given this much momentum to Nakamura in vain. They know that this is something that is going to keep the fans invested. So this rivalry is likely to continue post Mania, and we might see the roles reversed, as Styles tries to reclaim his Championship. Also it only takes magic for Superstars to retain titles at WrestleMania! Don’t believe me check out the history of WrestleMania. All this and a heavy momentum for Nakamura, indeed scream very loudly in our face about the winner. But, don’t be so sure yet, it is WrestleMania after all, surprises are always around the corner!

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura WWE Championship Match Prediction
